The 2025 Shanghai Pudong Furniture & Home Furnishings Dual Exhibitions Grandly Kick Off, Leading New Trends in the Home Furnishing Industry
From September 9th to 13th, 2025, the 30th China International Furniture Fair and the 2025 Modern Shanghai Design Week & Modern Shanghai Fashion Home Furnishings Fair were grandly held in a "dual-exhibition linkage" mode at the Shanghai Pudong New International Expo Center and the World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. With the themes of "Transcending · A New Era" and "Design: Infinite Possibilities", this year's exhibitions comprehensively demonstrated the innovative vitality and global influence of China's home furnishing industry.
As a major event in China's furniture industry, this year's exhibitions covered a total area of over 350,000 square meters, including 50 exhibition halls, and attracted more than 3,200 domestic and foreign brands to participate. It was expected to welcome 200,000 professional visitors from 160 countries and regions around the world. The exhibitions were held in a staggered time schedule: from September 9th to 12th, the 2025 Modern Shanghai Design Week & Modern Shanghai Fashion Home Furnishings Fair took the lead at the World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center; from September 10th to 13th, the China International Furniture Fair and the China Furniture High-End Manufacturing Fair continued the event at the New International Expo Center.
This year's exhibitions were full of highlights. The Modern Shanghai Fashion Home Furnishings Fair, founded in 2016, was officially renamed the "2025 Modern Shanghai Design Week & Modern Shanghai Fashion Home Furnishings Fair", achieving a comprehensive upgrade and restructuring. The four exhibition halls at the World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center covered segments such as display aesthetics, trendy lifestyle, design highlands, and factory direct sales, attracting more than 800 participating brands, 80% of which made their debut at the exhibition. Hall H4 gathered over 200 source furniture factories, and together with the digital platform "BOVA Furniture Selection" mini-program, it created an online-offline integrated factory direct sales model, realizing accurate connection between designers and factories.
At the New International Expo Center, where the China International Furniture Fair and the China Furniture High-End Manufacturing Fair were held, in addition to Hall E1 (International Brand Hall) and Halls E6/E7 (Brand Design Halls), two new segments were added this year: Hall E5 (Commercial High-End Customized Whole-Home Hall) and Hall E8B (Outdoor Home Furnishings Exhibition Area). Meanwhile, the exhibitions also launched the ESG Sustainable Development Themed Special Exhibition and the "Top 10 Chinese Furniture Brands Exhibition", which focused on demonstrating the original design capabilities, technological strength, and product competitiveness of Chinese furniture. In addition, events such as the "Global Buyers' Night" were held during the exhibitions to promote exchanges and cooperation between international buyers, designers, and brand representatives.
To promote industrial exchanges and ideological collisions, more than 100 professional forums were held during the exhibitions, covering topics such as design trends, sustainable development, cross-border overseas expansion, and industrial transformation. The New International Expo Center hosted events including the ESG Sustainable Development Themed Forum and the Globalization Strategy Trend Forum, while the World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center brought together well-known domestic and foreign designers and industry experts through segments such as the Modern Design Conference and globalization exchanges, building a think tank platform for cross-border cooperation and resource integration.
The successful holding of the 2025 Shanghai Pudong Furniture & Home Furnishings Dual Exhibitions is not only a summary and tribute to the development of China's home furnishing industry over the past 30 years, but also a new starting point for China's home furnishing industry to move towards the high end of the global value chain, heralding the arrival of a more resilient and dynamic new era for the home furnishing industry.
